This week: **Smart Suggestions**.

## Where to find it

On the left-hand side, open **Reports → Analytics**, then the last tab:
**Smart Suggestions**.

## What it is

A checklist RentalTide works out from your own account. Nothing on it is
ticked by hand: every item reads your real settings and data, so when you fix
something it shows green the next time you open the page.

Sixteen items in five groups:

- **Storefront & Branding**: logo, favicon, a website, online booking on your site
- **Listing Quality**: a real description and at least three photos on every listing
- **AI & Automation**: the AI chat agent, AI phone answering, a task agent, automated messages
- **Operations & Trust**: Stripe connected, digital waivers, Google reviews
- **Grow Revenue**: gift cards, a membership

It is per location. If you run more than one, switch location at the top left
to see the next one's list.

## Start with Listing Quality

The two listing items tell you exactly which listings fall short: which need a
description of at least 80 characters, and which have fewer than three photos.
Those words and pictures are what customers see before they book, and what
Google and AI search read about you.

## Every open item has a button

Each unticked item has a button that opens the page where you fix it: **Edit
listings**, **Connect reviews**, **Set up gift cards**. You never have to hunt
for the setting.

## One thing to know

If **Sell gift cards** is still open on your list, now is the time. A gift card
sold in December is money in the bank for a rental next summer, and holiday
shoppers are looking for exactly that kind of present. Before you sell one,
read this week's post on
[the expiry and fee rules for gift cards](/blog/gift-card-expiry-rules-rental-operators):
in most of the US, Canada and Australia a card someone paid for cannot expire
when you might expect.

Clear one or two a week over the off-season, and next season starts with every
box green.

See you next week.

## Transcript

This week's tip is a page most operators have never opened. Under Reports, open
Analytics, and go to the last tab: Smart Suggestions.

It is a checklist RentalTide works out from your own account: your storefront,
your listings, AI, payments, and revenue. Nobody ticks anything by hand. Fix
something, and it turns green the next time you look.

Start with Listing Quality. Here, two of seven listings need a longer
description, and one has fewer than three photos. Those words and pictures are
what Google and AI search read about you.

Every open item has a button that takes you straight to the fix. And with the
holidays coming, look for this one: gift cards. Money in December for rentals
next summer.

Clear one or two a week over the off-season, and next season starts with every
box green. See you next week.
